Looking for low prep drama activities for your upper elementary or middle school class? These task cards have a fun fairy tale theme and promote creativity – best of all, you can use them traditionally or with action figures!
Students can work in small groups, either performatively or simultaneously. After taking a prompt card for character, setting, and plot, they improvise their story – leaving any reading skill barriers behind.
I strongly believe that reading ability should not interfere with a child’s ability to enjoy or excel at drama. Popular activities such as reader’s theatre or drama circles are more about reading than they are performing. That’s why I create teaching resources that support improvisational drama skills so that all students can have a level playing field.
